First semester portfolio- Favorite piece!

My favorite piece is my cause and effect essay. The essay is about Middle School Wrestling. It is my favorite because I like to wrestle and it is about one of my favorite personal things I like to do. My ideas for this essay came from my experiences in wrestling.

Joining the Best Sport Ever!

When I first got to wrestling I thought to myself, how hard will I have to work? Who will I have to wrestle? What weight class will I be in? I also thought, this oughta be fun in about fifty ways. YEAH RIGHT, I will probably lose all my meets but oh well, I guess. Got to get over with it sometime. Now that I have been in wrestling for about three weeks, I have seen good and bad effects.

First of all, I have met more friends. So far I have made about ten more friends. Some of my friends have helped me in the process of wrestling. For one, they have helped me get a better stance, better technique, and lastly better moves of effectiveness. I also can talk to my new friends in and out of school.

Another advantage is going to new places in South Dakota that I haven't been to before. For instance, on Saturday, December 12 I will be going to Brookings. I have never been to Brookings, South Dakota. I also like to go out of town because it is something to do every once in a while. We also get to travel to Watertown, Madison, and Parkston.

Thirdly, I can win a bunch of wrestling medals. Oh yeah, so when my mom sees me wrestling, she will probably be shouting from the stands saying, “Go Son Go." Also my parents will be very proud of me, and I will be proud of myself, hopefully. It would feel good to win once in a while.

Lastly, I would be able to beat up on my little brother with all of my "nifty difty" moves I learn in wrestling. With all of those moves I would "dominate the game."

If you think you want to go out for wrestling, I would say go for it because you would have tremendous fun, and would be skillfully trained to win. I know I have learned a lot, but there is one thing you always need to know... to be respectful to your team, work hard and stay healthy, and be as good as gold.
